New Fish Care

Quarantine new fish before they join the community.

A simple quarantine setup gives you time to observe, feed, and address concerns without risking the established aquarium.

Protect Your Tank

Observe first, introduce later.

Quarantine length and treatment choices depend on the fish and any symptoms you see.

Separate Setup

Use a simple, cycled tank or established sponge filter, heater, cover, and easy-to-clean hiding place. Keep equipment separate from the display tank.

Watch Daily

Look for normal eating, breathing, swimming, waste, spots, clamped fins, or signs of stress. Test the quarantine water just like a display tank.

Treat Only When Needed

Do not mix medications or treat blindly. Identify the concern, follow the product label, and ask Gigi before moving fish into the main aquarium.

Important: Nets, buckets, and siphons can move problems from tank to tank. Keep quarantine tools separate and dry them fully between uses.
